Academic Showcase Information
ACADEMIC SHOWCASE INFORMATION
The Academic Showcase is designed to showcase the Academic oriented baseball player’s abilities for college baseball programs that meet both their academic and athletic needs.
The Games are held at Over Peck Park in Palisades Park, New Jersey. The Mid-Atlantic region is the academic corridor of the United States and New Jersey is right in the middle of some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world.
Historically, programs with higher academic standards have more limited budgets with regards to baseball recruiting. The Academic Showcase helps the coaches of these programs, by assembling some of the more talented student athletes under one roof.
The program is open to any student athlete with S.A.T. scores of 1650 (new scores) 1100 (old scores),ORr GPA of 3.5, OR class rank in the top 20%. Due to institutions emphasizing different aspects of the admissions process, a student-athlete need only meet one of the requirements to be eligible.
We feel this is a unique opportunity for both players and college coaches. Due to the overwhelming response, we encourage players to register early. There will be extremely strict roster limitations so as to enhance the potential exposure of each player.
COLLEGES IN ATTENDANCE
Since the inception of the Academic Showcase, we have experienced outstanding attendance by college coaches from throughout the Northeast. This year’s event should be no different. In the past, we have averaged between 40 and 50 coaches annually. See the website for a list of colleges in attendance in past years.
CAMP INFORMATION
The camp will be held on Thursday July 29th and Friday July 30th, 2010 with Saturday July 31st as the rain date. The cost is $395.00 per player.
Registration and payment will be accepted by either downloading the registration form and mailing it in with full payment, or e-mailing the form with payment via credit card. Players will be contacted by e-mail upon receipt and notified if your application was accepted.
Refunds will be permitted up until June 15, 2010. Their will be a $50 administration fee if you withdraw for any reason.
